Juvéderm® XC

Juvederm® XC

Juvederm® is an excellent product for soft, natural correction of wrinkles and the preferred product for lip augmentation. We offer Juvederm Ultra XC® and Juvederm Ultra Plus XC® – with comfort-enhancing lidocaine.

Available since 2006, Juvederm® is now possibly the most popular all around dermal filler. Concentrations of cross-linked hyaluronic acid are highest in Juvederm®, more than that of other dermal fillers currently available. Cross linking makes Juvederm long lasting, generally 6 – 12 months. In some facial areas you can boost effect duration by using in combination with Botox.

In addition, Juvederm® has a remarkably smooth consistency which makes it an ideal filler for those with thinner or sensitive skins. The manufacturing process makes it an easy flow gel that most practitioners prefer both for ease of treatment and comfort levels during injection.

Juvederm® is an excellent treatment for:

  • Lip enhancement
  • Deep folds
  • Facial lines
  • Wrinkle correction
  • Lip augmentation
  • Facial contour shaping of the cheeks and as a temporary chin “implant” alternative
  • Thin lines on the face and above the lips

The two product formulations include:

  • Juvederm® Ultra XC is a highly cross-linked formulation for more versatility in creating volume and contouring of facial wrinkles and folds.
  • Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC is a more highly cross-linked robust formulation for creating volume and correction of deeper folds and wrinkles.

JUVEDERM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

WHAT IS JEVEDERM®?

The injectable gel, Juvéderm, is a highly “homogenized” hyaluronic gel used to fill and lift facial lines and folds. Juvéderm comes in two formulations, Ultra and Ultra Plus and is now presented in a lidocaine-enhanced formula called XC (for extra comfort).

WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all mammals that helps to hydrate and add volume to your skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement, as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair.

WHAT IS CROSS-LINKED HYALURONIC ACID?

“Uncross-linked” hyaluronic acid in its natural form is in a liquid state. “Cross-linking” is the process through which hyaluronic acid is made into a gel product that can be injected into the skin for long-lasting results.

WHAT DOES JUVEDERM® DO?

Juvéderm® injectable gels will temporarily add volume replacement in wrinkles and folds to smooth the skin for a younger appearance.

WHAT IS JUVEDERM® INDICATED FOR?

Juvéderm Ultra® and Juvéderm Ultra Plus® injectable gels are indicated for injection into the mid to deep dermis (below the outer layer of skin) for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.

WHY DOES JUVEDEMN® COME IN TWO FORMULATIONS?

Juvéderm® injectable gel is available in two formulations to allow us to tailor treatment to your unique needs. Juvéderm Ultra® provides versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm Ultra Plus® is a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?

JUVÉDERM ® is the ONLY hyaluronic acid (HA) filler FDA approved to last up to 1 year.

WHAT MAKES JUVEDERM® DIFFERENT FROM OTHER DERMAL FILLERS?

Juvéderm® injectable gel employs its unique manufacturing process to provide the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available hyaluronic acid dermal filler for long-lasting results. This advanced manufacturing process works to create a smooth consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. All other currently approved hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are made of granular consistency gels. And, Juvéderm® is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in persons of color.
