Dermal fillers restore lost volume, soften lines and refine your facial contours in a single appointment, with little to no downtime. At Adult Health N.P., PLLC in Merrick, nurse practitioner Valerie Avelli, RN, ANP-C, and our team provide dermal fillers for patients from across Long Island and Nassau County.
We offer three leading hyaluronic acid filler families: Juvéderm®, Restylane® and Belotero Balance®. Each has its own strengths, and we choose the product to suit your features, your goals and the area being treated.

What Dermal Fillers Can Treat

As we age, the skin loses hyaluronic acid, collagen and fat. The result is flatter cheeks, deeper folds and thinner lips. Dermal fillers replace that lost volume directly, so the improvement is visible straight away.

Fillers are commonly used for:

  • Lip volume, shape and definition
  • Fine lines around the mouth, including vertical lip lines
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines) and marionette lines
  • Cheek volume and mid-face lift
  • Chin and jawline contouring
  • Under-eye hollows

Juvéderm®, Restylane® or Belotero Balance®: Which Filler Suits You?

All three are hyaluronic acid gels, a substance your skin already makes. They differ in texture and firmness, which decides where each works best.

Juvéderm® Collection

Juvéderm® is a family of fillers matched to different areas. Voluma® XC lifts and contours the cheeks, with results that can last up to two years. Vollure® XC softens moderate to deep folds such as smile lines. Volbella® XC and Ultra XC enhance the lips, and Ultra Plus XC treats deeper wrinkles.

Restylane®

Restylane® is known for flexible formulas that move naturally with your expressions. Restylane® LYFT adds mid-face volume, DEFYNE and REFYNE soften folds and lines, and KYSSE and SILK create fuller, smoother lips.

Belotero Balance®

Belotero Balance® is a softer filler that blends smoothly into thin, delicate skin. It is especially suited to fine, etched-in lines around and above the lips.

If your main concern is a gradual loss of firmness rather than volume in one area, a biostimulator such as Sculptra® or Radiesse® may suit you better. We will talk this through at your consultation.

What to Expect at Your Filler Appointment

Every treatment starts with a consultation. We assess your facial structure, discuss what you would like to change and agree on a plan, including which product and how much.
On the day, the area is cleansed and a topical numbing cream may be applied. Many fillers also contain lidocaine for comfort. Injections usually take 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated.
Most patients return to normal activities the same day. Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites is common and usually settles within a few days. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

Results are visible immediately and settle fully over about two weeks. How long they last depends on the product and the area:
  • Lip fillers typically last 6 to 12 months.
  • Fillers for folds and lines typically last 9 to 18 months.
  • Cheek fillers such as Juvéderm® Voluma® XC can last up to two years.
Top-up treatments keep your results consistent. Because hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible, they can also be dissolved if needed.

Dermal Filler Pricing

Fillers are priced per syringe, and most treatments use one to three syringes. You will receive a clear quote at your consultation before any treatment begins. Monthly payment plans are available through Cherry patient financing.

Dermal Filler FAQs

Do dermal fillers hurt?

Most patients describe a brief pinch. Topical numbing and the lidocaine in many fillers keep discomfort to a minimum.
Yes. We use conservative amounts, choose the product to match the area and build results gradually if needed. The aim is a refreshed version of you, not a different face.
Immediately. Any swelling settles within a few days, and the final result is visible at around two weeks.
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the result or a complication arises.
Yes. Many of our filler patients travel from across Long Island and Nassau County.
